Suzuki has taken the wraps off a very special Ertiga at the ongoing 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. Called the Ertiga Sport Concept, the MPV has been overhauled with a very striking looking body kit, special paint job, smoked headlamps, and massive yet aggressive alloy wheels.
Based on the new-gen India-bound Ertiga, the Sport Concept MPV looks gorgeous, to say the least. The design cues are taken from the Swift Sport. So there is a red line running over the tweaked meshed grille. The bumper extensions upfront gels well with the already stylish bumper design. The smoked headlamps get sleek LEDs. And the chrome paint scheme adds to the sporty effect overall.
The floating silhouette makes the Ertiga Sport look more modern and fantastic. The most dominant element is the boomerang shaped taillights. There is also a petite but aggressively designed spoiler at the rear. The bumpers get distinctive diffusers as well. The 18-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in low profile tyres to add to the sporty demeanour.
The changes are only cosmetic, and under the skin, the mechanicals remains unchanged. So there is the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15b petrol engine mated with SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The same naturally-aspirated mill will power the India-spec Ertiga and even the upcoming Ciaz facelift.
The new-gen Ertiga is India-bound this year sometime around the festive season. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the Ertiga Sport. Stay tuned to CarWale for more details.
