The Suzuki Baleno hatchback has been spotted sans camouflage ahead of its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is a new premium hatchback from the Japanese automaker and will slot into the Suzuki hierarchy above the popular Swift model.
The pictures reveal a large hatchback and multiple colour options including a shade of orange a.k.a sunlight copper which we last saw on the India-spec first-generation Swift. The other colours include white, silver, black, red and blue.
We have seen the car testing on multiple occasions and pretty much know that it will be manufactured at the Gurgaon plant for global exports and will be sent to markets including Japan. Sales of the car in the European markets are expected to begin by the end of February 2016.
It will be offered with Suzuki’s new 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine as well as the 1.4-litre K-series petrol mill found in the Ertiga. On the diesel front, we can expect the 1.3-litre Multijet in the 90bhp configuration.
Expect an Indian debut for this car at the 2016 Auto Expo and a launch by the middle of next year. It will compete in the B+ segment with the Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto Evo, Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Elite i20.
