Suzuki had launched the Swift as a world strategic model in 2004 in markets including Japan, Europe, China, and India. The car won accolades for its performance and design and won a lot of hearts as well. The car is getting a complete make-over and the new Swift which has been launched in Hungary already, will hit the Indian markets next year.
It offers better fuel economy thanks to the new K12B 1.2-litre petrol engine and D13A 1.3-litre diesel engine, better handling thanks to a new platform, and better safety. Suzuki has promised better dynamics along with improved CO2 emissions. The cost of the new Swift is yet to be known and the actual interiors too have been safely kept away from the eyes of the media.
The all new Swift is wider than its earlier version and though its longer, it is under the 4m bar. The wheel base too increases to 50 mm. The space in the interior of the car has certainly increased and the car is taller as well; so expect more leg room and head room. The front end is designed like the Kizashi, with larger headlamps that extend to the lower air dams. Suzuki's Kizashi might hit the markets at the end of the year. The Swift has already attracted its share of attention and the launch of a new edition only makes the Swift loyalists anxious as to what is in-store. Like the earlier version it might just 'Swift'ly win a lot of hearts.
