SsangYong will be unveiling its next-gen Rexton at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show. The new model will make it to UK dealerships by 2017. Sources have stated that the new model offers an improved build quality in comparison to its predecessor. Moreover, the new model will also be about 50kgs lighter and offer better fuel economy owing to improved aerodynamic design.
The next-gen SsangYong Rexton will continue to be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which generates 178bhp of power. The SUV might also get a selectable all-wheel-drive system. In terms of safety, the new Rexton will get lane departure warning, blind sport detection and airbags.
As for the interior, the next-gen model will have premium feel with a choice of leather upholstery. The SUV will get a large TFT screen in between the wood finish dashboard with chrome inserts that renders an upmarket feel. The cabin space is also bigger than its predecessor. The boot space will also be bigger and folding the two seats in the third row will further offer that extra space for more luggage that can fit in comfortably.
Additional details on the technical and feature aspects will be known post the next-gen SsangYong Rexton’s official unveiling at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
