Come October 19 and SsangYong will showcase not one, but two new concept models at the Paris Motor Show. Called XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure, these two models are the final development concepts from the Korean SUV brand.
SsangYong has revealed that the XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure are near production ready concepts of the soon to be launched X100. Based on the brand’s new design theme of ‘Nature born - 3 Motion’, the XIV is an all-new SUV series that has been shown at previous international motor shows over the past four years, the first time being at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The upcoming SUVs will be powered by either a 1.6 litre petrol or a 1.6 litre diesel engine that meets Euro 6 emission standards. Furthermore, measuring about 4.2m in length and with a 2,600mm wheelbase, the vehicles will not only be fairly compact but spacious too.
While these two concept models will take the centre stage at SsangYong’s show floor in Paris, the brand is readying the X100 for launch sometime next year. When on sale, the vehicle will be positioned above the existing Korando which is a mid-size SUV.
