Korean utility vehicle maker SsangYong has released a teaser video of its new B-segment crossover, the Tivoli. The model has been under development for the past three years and previously seen in concept form with the project name X100. The brand has announced that it will launch the Tivoli in Korea in January next year.
Going by the teaser video, the exterior shows a modern silhouette, and embraces SsangYong’s new design language. While SsangYong has not revealed much in terms of powertrain options, the engine range for this new model will consist of two 1.6-litre units, in either petrol or diesel form.
These engines will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options. SangYong will also be offering both two and four- wheel-drive configurations for the Tivoli.
Post its Korean debut in January, the Tivoli will go on sale globally during the second quarter of 2015. Given the rising demand for compact crossovers among Indian audience, SsangYong could consider bringing it here in the Indian market to cash in on the growing trend.
