The Mahindra owned SsangYong company's Tivoli SUV was on display at the 2016 Auto Expo. It will be launched in India by the mid of this year. Let us see through these pictures what all we can expect from the Tivoli when Mahindra and Mahindra introduces it for the Indian market.
The stylish and premium looking car is the very first compact SUV offered by SsangYong and based on the carmaker's new design language.
The SUV is named after the Italian town of Tivoli and is built on a heavy investment of 350 billion won or 320 million dollars.
The Tivoli is based on the X100 platform and measures 4,195mm in length, 1,795mm in width, 1,590mm in height and rides on a 2,600mm wheelbase.
The impressive styling with a butch stance features LED daytime running lights up front giving it a very modern look. It also gets automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
Coming to the sides, 16-inch alloy wheels can be seen. Globally, the Tivoli is also offered with optional 18-inch alloy wheels.
The rear three-quarter profile shows off the muscular styling. The bumpers are equipped with rear parking sensors.
The curved shoulder line ends in the tail lamp with a completely new design. These tail lamps incorporate the use of LED units.
Apart from the 71.4 per cent of high strength steel in its construction, the Tivoli gets seven airbags and electronic stability control as a standard safety package.
Other features in the cabin like dual-zone climate control, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, smart key entry and a sunroof make it an impressive package for the Indian market.
The Tivoli for the Indian market might be available in both 1.6-litre petrol and diesel variants matched to a six-speed manual transmission.
Mahindra believes that the Tivoli has the potential to change fortunes of their automotive company and will set several new benchmarks in the B-segment SUV category.
