SsangYong Rexton a popular name in the SUV space, is all set to be unveiled at the upcoming Seoul Motor Show. Ahead of its unveiling in production form, the automaker has released the sketches for the upcoming vehicle which gives us some insight as to how the vehicle might turn out to be. Based on the SsangYong’s LIV-2 Concept, the vehicle codenamed Y400 will be introduced under the Mahindra badging in the country and is expected to be positioned above the XUV500.
At the time of its India debut, the SUV will be powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-charged diesel that generates 182bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. The vehicle is expected to come mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic. Sometime at a later date, the vehicle might also be offered with a 2.0-litre that generates 221bhp of power. As for the interior, the new model is expected to get a 9.2-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the rear seat passengers, the vehicle offers a 10.1-inch display in the back of the front head rests. Moreover, it also comes with individual captain seats that offer a massage function. The vehicle will sport premium upholstery and mood lighting function.
As seen in sketches, the vehicle might get flared wheel arches that give it a muscular stance along with rugged-looking alloy wheels. The front looks sporty with sharp headlamps and prominent LED DRLs on the large bumper. The vehicle will also get a prominent LED daytime running lamp on the bumper along with a few bits of chrome. The pricing aspect for the upcoming vehicle is not known for now, however we believe it might be priced between Rs 20 – 25 lakh (Ex-showroom). Post launch, the vehicle is expected to compete against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
