Ssangyong Motors announced a sales achievement they recently registered. The company reported its highest ever monthly sales since 2005, with a total of 14,244 vehicles being sold globally. Out of this 6,202 units account for the domestic sales while 8,042 belong to exports.
There has been a 27.1 per cent increase from 2012 and by 22.1 per cent on an accumulated basis. Driving the sales is the Korando C, with 5,997 units since its launch in 2010. Ssangyong began selling this model globally after introducing it as the New Korando C in August this year.
Ssangyong’s domestic sales recorded its highest ever in seven years since December 2006 at 6,534 units, with a sales increase on all models including the Korando Family Brand models. It rose greatly by 48.2 per cent over the same month last year.
Confirming the achievement, Lee Yoo-il, CEO of Ssangyong Motor, commented, “We achieved the highest ever monthly sales in October since 2005 as well as profits for two consecutive quarters backed by sales increase,” adding, “Such sales growth will accelerate as the New Korando C has been receiving an overwhelming response from the global market.”
The company hopes that with the New Korando C, their sales will further accelerate in overseas markets like Europe following its China launch. Intending to make this possible they have also announced that they will strive to expand their production in order to meet the demands.
