The Ssangyong Actyon Sports dual cab pick-up truck has been spotted testing in India by the team at Topgear Malyalam. Mahindra might be planning to launch this car which falls under the lifestyle pick-up category. The Indian SUV major had displayed this car during the 2012 Auto Expo but was tight lipped about its plans to launch in India.
The Actyon Sports dual cab pick-up truck is based on the Actyon SUV and is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 153bhp of power and 360Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The Ssangyong Actyon Sports has also been fitted ABS, power steering, bluetooth enabled audio system, airbags and four-wheeled drive. Currently we have the Tata Xenon and the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway pick-up trucks that are sold in this segment in India.
Izusu’s D-Max pick-up truck will also be making its way to India later this year. If launched, the Actyon Sports will obviously demand a hefty premium and will be targeted to niche buyers that currently populate the buyer profile for this segment.
