Sportier Mercedes-AMG A45 in the works

Amidst denial from the top brass at Merc-AMG, you can see here that the brand is definitely working towards an ‘S’ version of the A45.

Unlike the regular 381bhp A45 version, the Merc’s A45 ‘S’ could get as much as 400bhp. What caught our attention is that the test car in the picture sits lower than the regular car and also reveals prominent wheel arches in addition to the wires that pop out of the hood. This is why we believe that it could be a more powerful version (S) to the current model and not the next generation car as Merc has already been spotted testing the next-gen A-Class with the new body shell.

Take performance into consideration, and the current A45 AMG does the 100kmph sprint in 4.2secs before hitting an electronically limited 250kmph. So, one can expect better acceleration times to compete with rivals like the Audi RS3 saloon and the upcoming RS3 Sportback.
