- To be launched in Q1 of 2025
- Will be positioned below Kushaq SUV
Skoda India recently announced the arrival of a new entrant in the sub-four metre segment of the Indian market. Shortly after the revelation, the model was spied testing in heavy traffic situations. Now, the model was spotted again on a test run revealing many key details including design elements.
As seen in the picture, the Skoda’s compact SUV will get the Kushaq’s DNA, as it will be based on the MQB A0-IN platform. Up front, the SUV will get a similar grille design flanked by LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, wider grille, and a squared front bumper.
At the rear, the SUV will carry a design inspired by its elder sibling with a flat rear profile, extended roof spoiler with integrated stop lamp, shark fin antenna, and roof rails. Moreover, the LED taillights will get a new treatment with an L-shaped pattern.
As seen in this frame, the upcoming SUV from Skoda will be a proper Tata Nexon rival with similar dimensions. Mechanically it will only be equipped with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol motor capable of generating 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque. This engine will come mated to a six-speed manual and an automatic torque converter unit.
Upon its launch scheduled in Q1 of 2025, the Skoda’s sub-four metre SUV will compete against the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3X0, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite in the segment.
