The new SUV from Skoda will officially be called the Kodiaq. This is a production version of the VisionS concept SUV that was showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It will stand alongside the Superb in Skoda’s vehicle lineup.
The Kodiaq will be a seven-seater vehicle and measures in at 4.70 metres. The car is expected to get the same engine, underpinnings and feature list from the Superb sedan. However, this car is also sporting a new hybrid setup, a first from the Czech automaker. The Kodiaq will debut in the second half of 2016 and officially go on sale in the beginning of 2017.
It has been named the Kodiaq after an Alaskan bear and follows in the footsteps of the Yeti which has got its name from the mythical biped said to be living in the forests of America. The vehicle was showcased with the front and rear camouflaged at a Skoda dealer event last month.
