Skoda will launch the facelifted Yeti for the Indian market tomorrow. The manufacturer had unveiled the refreshed car at the 2014 Auto Expo in February.
The Yeti facelift has been given a complete cosmetic makeover setting it apart from the previous model. It has been styled along the lines of the recently refreshed Skoda cars- the Superb and the Octavia. The front of the car features a new grille, rectangular-shaped headlights with optional bi-xenons, LED daytime running lights. The rear houses new C-shaped tail lamps with optional LEDs and a redesigned tailgate. The car also gets new alloys wheels and new colour schemes.
This facelifted car will continue to be powered by the same set of engine options. The 2.0-litre diesel engine which produces 108bhp and 250Nm of torque in the front-wheel-drive version will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The other all-wheel-drive version will be powered by the 2.0-litre motor that churns out 138bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. This mill is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.
The Skoda Yeti facelift was unveiled last year at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and has been on sale in a few global markets for a while now. The Yeti was never taken seriously due to its offbeat looks despite being excellent in almost all other areas. The new facelifted Yeti should change this perception as it plays safe in the design department and is expected to attract the attention of a bigger audience. The car might be priced around the Rs 18 lakh to Rs 19.5 lakh bracket.
