Skoda has taken the wraps off the new Citigo. The entry-level model in the Czech manufacturer’s portfolio, the Citigo, has been given a new fascia and a few creature comforts for 2018.
The redesigned fascia gives the Skoda Citigo a sporty look. The bumpers have been redesigned, the headlamps feature LED daytime running lights while the fog lamps get cornering function. The rear section gets tinted tail lights. The roof and the wing mirrors are available in contrasting white or black as an optional extra. Customers can opt for 14-inch, 15-inch or 16-inch wheels.
Even the cabin has been updated with new upholstery, climate control and a multifunction steering wheel. The Swing infotainment system allows smartphone pairing. It also gets an emergency brake system to prevent collisions in city traffic with the help of a laser sensor integrated in the rear-view mirror mount.
The Citigo is offered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine offered in two states of tune. The lower variant delivers 60bhp while the sprightlier version churns out 75bhp. Customers get the option of either a five-speed manual or an automated shift gearbox. The Citigo is available in both three door and five door variants. It is available in five trims - S, SE, Colour Edition, SE L and Monte Carlo. Prices start at GBP 8,635 (Rs 7.25 lakh) in the UK.
