Skoda has turned its Fabia R5 race car into an estate concept model for the 34th GTI meeting at Worthersee in Austria. The Czech automaker has announced that it will be presenting the Fabia R5 alongside three other sports cars.
According to Skoda, as many as 200,000 tuning and motorsport enthusiasts will be turning up in Austria between 13 and 16 May for the Volkswagen Group tuning festival. This will be Skoda’s sixth appearance at the GTI meeting, where the brand will be presenting five sporty models.
Skoda’s designers have reinterpreted the Fabia R5 as an estate model to create the Fabia R5 Combi show car. It features a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine, all-wheel-drive and a sequential five-speed transmission.
The Fabia R5 Combi will make its public debut alongside a few more equally wacky concept cars from the Volkswagen group including the Fabia Funstar.
