Skoda is all set to launch its electric offensive beginning 2019 with the first model in this new electric family to be built in the Czech Republic. The Czech manufacturing facility is also set to produce components for plug-in hybrid models as early as 2019, with the first electrified model, a PHEV version of its Superb mid-sizer, also scheduled for launch in 2019.
While it’s not sure what kind of vehicle it would be, a likely result will be a production version of the Vision E concept (pictured) shown at this year’s Shanghai motor show, which was a coupe-styled crossover with a pure-electric drivetrain and autonomous driving systems.
