Skoda India will change the nomenclature of the Elegance models to Style across their portfolio of cars. The manufacturer will also up the equipment list in this variant.
The Rapid was available in four variants - Active, Ambition, Elegance and Elegance plus. Now the Elegance variant will be available as Style and will additionally get a parktronic sensor at the back. The Elegance plus will change to Style plus and continue to be offered with the black package. The Octavia and the Superb will follow suit in terms of this naming.
There will be no mechanical changes to the new Style variant and the powertrain will be the same as the ones offered with the Elegance trim.
There was a time when Elegance was the top-end variant of the Skoda nomenclature among Active, Ambience and Elegance. Now, Skoda have decided to completely replace it by the Style trim. Despite the change in nomenclature and the addition of features, the carmaker is expected to hike the prices of these versions by a very minimal amount.
