Skoda Auto India has announced a price hike of 1 to 1.8 per cent across the entire product range. The new rates will be effective early August and are been implemented to negate increasing input costs and volatile exchange rates.
Due to challenging market conditions, the rate hike has been deferred by many car makers; however, we might see few more auto companies announcing the move in the near future, as the conditions haven’t changed in a while. Despite these factors, Skoda India has done quite well posting 89 per cent growth in June compared to same month last year – mainly because of the Skoda Rapid, which was missing from the range last year.
