Ahead of its anticipated debut at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show, Skoda has teased the Vision E Concept. Based on the Volkswagen’s new MEB electric vehicle platform, it is expected to be launched in international market sometime around 2020 or 2021. This might be launched after the Superb plug-in hybrid is launched. Coincidentally, the Superb will be Skoda’s first electric car to be introduced from the company’s production line.
Judging by the brief glimpse we got, the Vision E seems to carry forth quite a few styling bits from the Kodiaq which was recently showcased in production form. Karl Neuhold, the new head of exterior design at Skoda will be working on the Vision E Concept. Therefore, we can expect the electric SUV-Coupe to be given a sportier design with powerful sharp designed LED headlights and signature ‘C’ taillamps at the rear. The vehicle is expected to get all modern electronics along with multiple safety features.
Reports indicate that the new model might be called the Kodiaq Coupe, and mechanical details regarding the same will be known in the days to come. Volkswagen is considering introducing an electric SUV concept at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show, which might further expand its range of all-electric ID concept cars.
