Skoda’s upcoming SUV, which will sit above the Yeti, has been spotted testing with minimal camouflage. Codenamed the A-Plus, it is expected to be available in five and seven-seater versions with both two-wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive options.
In terms of external design, it carries the widely recognisable Skoda fascia comprising the moustache grille and angular headlights. From the side, the Yeti’s origins are very visible thanks to the flared wheel arches as well as the path of the roofline. The similarities continue at the rear thanks to the angular lines on the hatch door as well as the shape of the tail lamps.
There are no photos of the interior or details on what will be available with the car apart from the Czech automaker’s Amundsen infotainment system whose badging is clearly visible on the side and rear. On the engine front, as we had said in the introduction, it will get all the mills and transmission options from the Yeti.
It is expected to debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and is likely to be called the Skoda Polar.
