- We expect Skoda to put the new Superb on sale in Europe early next year
The current generation Skoda Superb is up for its first minor facelift, and these early spy shots give us a glimpse of a re-designed front bumper. All other details of the Czech’s big sedan appear to be similar so far.
That said, for the production-spec model we expect some cosmetic modifications at the rear, too. The new Superb could get Skoda’s first electrified powertrain – a plug-in hybrid system based around the VW Passat GTE. That means a 154bhp, 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo with an electric motor and six-speed automatic gearbox for a total of 215bhp. The car will have an EV-only range of 50 kilometres.
Skoda will finish off the facelift with a slightly modernised interior. We expect the new Superb to hit the dealers in Europe in early 2019.
