For the first time in its 119-year history, Czech automaker Skoda has sold more than one million vehicles in a year. The brand, in fact, sold 1,037,200 vehicles worldwide last year. The sales figure marks an improvement of 12.7 per cent over the brand’s 2013 sales performance of 920,800 units.
In December alone, Skoda’s global sales increased by 16.9 per cent to 81,900 units. Moving forward, the automaker intends to grow further with upcoming new and updated models.
Skoda’s future launches include the new Fabia Estate which will arrive at UK dealerships this month. The new Superb, meanwhile, will receive its world premiere in February in Prague and will then be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. The luxury sedan will hit the showrooms in mid-2015.
