Skoda has rolled out its 15 millionth car from its plant in Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic since it began operation in 1905. The milestone machine is 2013 silver coloured Skoda Octavia which will go on to become a VIP car that will be used at one of the Czech automakers research centres.
Skoda was purchased by German auto giant Volkswagen in 2000 and in the last six years has been able to make more than one-third of the sales that it has managed since its beginnings. It hopes to have an annual sales figure of 1.5 million units by the end of 2018.
Skoda recently launched that latest avatar of the Octavia which is its best -selling model to date. It plans to launch at least five models by the end of the year and is also implementing a new logo which will be seen with the newer launches.
