Skoda Auto India has rolled out the 100,000th Skoda Rapid in India from its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The vehicle was the Rapid Monte Carlo, which pays homage to Skoda’s motorsport heritage and Rallye Monte Carlo.
The Skoda Rapid nameplate originated in the 1930s with the Type 901, and later in the 1980s with the rear-engine Skoda Rapid Coupé. The Rapid debuted in India in November 2011 and was later updated in 2016 with Skoda’s emotive crystalline design philosophy.
