Ahead of its official launch announcement, Skoda has introduced the Octavia Onyx edition in the country. As indicated by sources, the Onyx edition will be based on the top-spec automatic petrol and diesel versions of the Octavia that will get additional factory fitted kit for that sporty appeal. Though the pricing aspect has not been revealed for now, we believe it might be priced around Rs 40,000 higher than the automatic top-spec version. The Octavia Onyx edition will be sold only for a limited period.
In terms of external appearance, the Skoda Octavia Onyx edition gets attractive body coloured spoiler, new decorative foils and door sills, 16-inch Premia black alloy wheels and black exterior mirrors. Moreover, the Onyx edition boasts about featuring dynamic honeycomb air inlets that gives it a masculine, dynamic and an overall emotive impression. The upcoming limited edition vehicle will get with Bi-Xenon projector headlights, 12-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, panoramic sunroof and a host of other features.
Under the hood, Skoda Octavia Onyx edition will get a 1.8 TSI petrol mated to 7-speed DSG transmission while the diesel version will be powered by a 2.0 TDI engine which comes mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission. Along with multiple airbags for safety, the special edition will also get Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS), which enhances safety of the driver by automatically adjusting the headlight based on the driving conditions.
