A Skoda Rapid with different body parts was spied by a source, indicating that the Czech car maker might be working on a limited edition model. There is some ambiguity over Skoda getting this limited edition model sooner as in March 2014, they launched the Rapid Ultima edition.
Meanwhile, VW is getting its act ready to launch the facelifted Vento and the Polo. The Rapid is based on the Vento, which also gives scope for speculation that we might see a facelifted Rapid. Apart from different styling, the Vento will get a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a DSG gearbox. It is expected that these changes will make it to the Rapid as well; however, the styling changes are unknown.
The source claims the car features black inserts for the projector headlamps and black surrounds for the grille. The black theme continues on the wing morrors and the alloy wheels.
Although, nothing can be confirmed with a single spy picture of a model with different styling cues, but, we do expect a facelifted Rapid to be launched soon. The new Rapid will feature styling similar to its larger siblings the Octavia and the Superb and minor changes to the interiors.
