Skoda is all set to launch its fastest Octavia yet for India – the Octavia RS next week. The top-spec Octavia RS might be priced around Rs 26 lakhs and will be assembled at the Aurangabad facility as a CKD.
While we expected Skoda to bring the true-blue RS with the latest 245bhp setup, a 1.8-litre turbo-petrol engine and four-wheel drive, the Indian RS gets a 2.0-litre mill. The setup has been sourced from the Audi TT and delivers 227bhp of power and 370Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed automatic driving the front wheels only.
The Octavia RS will be offered in the top-spec style-plus trim only, complete with sunroof, projector headlamps with DRLs, power seats, power mirrors and all the bells and whistles. The diesel Octavia RS is also expected to join in later with a 2.0-litre 177bhp all-wheel-drive setup sourced from the Audi Q3.
