The performance-focused Skoda Octavia RS will be launched in India towards the end of August 2017. The Octavia RS gets the same overall design as the standard car, but with sportier overtones. Along with a petrol engine, the upcoming vehicle might also get a diesel engine option.
On the design aspect, the Skoda Octavia RS gets blackened headlamps and gets sporty bumpers with a mesh grille and sporty fog lamps. The sides get a profile similar to the standard car but with sportier alloy wheels and bigger tyres. The rear section gets dual quad-shaped exhausts and a small rear wing that has been fitted to the boot door. Inside, in addition to the existing features in the standard Octavia, the RS will offer sports-style bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting. The vehicle will also get a touchscreen infotainment system and dual-zone climate control as standard in the RS along with paddle shifters, traction control and ESP.       Â
Under the hood, the Octavia RS will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that generates 213bhp of power. The Czech car manufacturer might also offer a 2.0-litre TDI engine that generates 178bhp of power. Both the engines will be offered in six-speed manual and six-speed dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. Reports have indicated that there might also be an all-wheel drive system on the diesel automatic. On the pricing aspect we believe that the Octavia RS might be priced around Rs 32 lakhs.
