As part of its product line up for 2017, Skoda will be launching the Octavia Black Edition in India. It is believed that the upcoming model might get the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system along with a few cosmetic upgrades. Mechanically, it will continue to be powered by existing engine options.
Skoda has not revealed the technical specifications for the upcoming Octavia Black Edition but, we believe that the Octavia Black edition might continue to be powered by the 1.4-litre TSI and 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine options which generate 147bhp of power and 174bhp of power respectively. The diesel trim might continue being powered by the 2.0-litre TDI engine which generates about 140bhp of power. The engines will be offered in manual and automatic transmission options.
The DCC system helps in adjusting the engine responsiveness, steering weight, softening the car dampers and gearbox reaction time to manage different driving situations. It might also offer three driving modes - Comfort, Normal and Sport. In terms of exterior upgrades, the Octavia black edition is expected to be offered in special black shade along with a few cosmetic tweaks in the form of bigger bumpers and darkened alloys. The car might also get blacked out headlamps and tail lamp internals.
Details about its interior is not known for now, however it is believed that the vehicle might get the new touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls and electrically adjustable and retractable wing mirrors. The car may get specially designed premium upholstery with black elements. More details about the vehicle will be known at a later date.
