Skoda Auto India has launched a limited edition of its Rapid sedan called the Ultima for Rs 8.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is available with petrol and diesel engines and in two variants Ambition and Elegance for a limited period.
The Rapid Ultima, on the outside, gets roof and side foil, parking sensors, seven spoke alloy wheels, side plaque with Ultima Branding and projector headlights. It also gets three stripes running across the length of the body on the left side.
Inside, Skoda has fitted the Ultima with leatherate seat covers, multi-function steering wheel, GPS navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity for the music system, Ultima-branded floor mats and door sil covers, and finally additional air bags in the middle variants.
The Rapid Ultima, which features Skoda’s new logo, will be available in diesel and petrol variants across the Ambition Plus and Elegance trims. The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 103bhp and 153Nm torque while the 1.6-litre diesel engine produces 103bhp and 250Nm of torque. The petrol can be had with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic while diesel has been mated to a five-speed manual.
It is likely that Skoda had been planning to launch the limited edition model with a higher price but thanks to the revision in Excise Duty, it may have slashed its prices. The Rapid is a C-Segment sedan that competes with the Honda City, Nissan Sunny, Renault Scala and the Hyundai Verna.
The Rapid Ultima edition will be priced as follows (Ex-showroom New Delhi):
1.6 MPI MT Ambition Plus Rs. 8.33 lakh
1.6 MPI AT Ambition Plus Rs. 9.30 lakh
1.6 MPI MT Elegance Rs. 8.95 lakh
1.6 MPI AT Elegance Rs. 9.91 lakh
