Skoda has launched a limited edition of the Fabia hatchback called the Mote Carlo Tech Edition for the UK market. It will be limited to 1000 units and is the second limited edition for the Fabia in the UK market after Monte Carlo edition went on sale in 2011 to commemorate 100 years of the famous Monte Carlo rally. The car has cosmetic changes both on the inside and the outside.
On the outside, the limited edition Fabia gets smoked headlights, piano black grille (to match the new Skoda logo) black OVRMs, body kit as well as a black roof, all features that were introduced with the previous car. The Monte Carlo Tech sits on 17-inch alloy wheels and can be had either in a shade of red or white. There are also Monte Carlo badges above the indicators to reaffirm the car’s special pedigree.
Inside, the car gets Skoda Fabia racing seats, special steel kick plates, leather wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake. The whole interior has been finished in a shade that the Czech automaker calls Onyx black for the white coloured car and the same design in a shade of red for the red coloured car. Also included in the package are a Sat-nav system and a Bluetooth package.
Under the hood, the limited edition Fabia is being offered with one 1.2-litre petrol mill producing 105PS and one 1.6-litre diesel mill also producing 105PS. These are the same mills being offered with the standard UK spec Skoda Fabia. All variants of this vehicle have been fitted with a five-speed manual transmission.
Prices for the petrol version start at 11, 900 GBP (Rs 9.9 lakh) while the diesel has been priced at 12, 960GBP (Rs 10.87 Lakh) and have been limited to 500 units each.
