- Sub-four compact SUV tailor-made for India
- Will be powered by 1.0-litre TSI petrol
Yesterday, Skoda revealed that its new sub-four metre compact SUV will be called the Skoda Kylaq and now it’s been made known that it will reach showrooms by February 2025. This means the car is expected to be revealed by the end of the year along with the start of production. We bet that Skoda will announce the prices of the Kylaq at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo scheduled for the second week of January 2025.
The Kylaq is Skoda’s third car under its India 2.0 programme and will be offered with the automaker’s 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol producing 113bhp and 175Nm. This engine can be had with either a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT.
The car shares much of its looks with the Kushaq but will be made shorter post the C-pillar to comply with the sub-four metre length. Much of the cabin and feature list is expected to be carried over without change, to make this a premium offering in the segment. This car will be Skoda’s answer to cars like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, Maruti Brezza, Toyota Taisor, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
