Just 10 days after Skoda Auto India commenced bookings of the Kylaq, the caraker has received 10,000 bookings for the model. The sub-four-metre SUV, which is priced from Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, rivals the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and the Kia Sonet.
Starting 13 December, Skoda will undertake what it terms an ‘India Dream Tour’ where three units of the Kylaq will go for a nationwide tour before returning to the plant in Chakan on 25 January. The tour will see the cars hit multiple cities such as Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Udaipur, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Kochi, Delhi, Ranchi, Trivandrum, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai, Jammu, Mandi, Agra, Guwahati, and more.
This tour will allows customers to check out the new Kylaq in person ahead of its deliveries scheduled to begin on 27 January, 2025. Notably, the car will also be showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.
While Skoda continues to accept bookings of the Kylaq, the process for the entry-level Classic variant has been put on hold. This is expected to resume once Skoda receives a total of 33,000 bookings for the rest of the variants of the Kylaq.
