- Skoda Kylaq prices in India to be announced early next year
- Will rival the Nexon, Venue, Brezza, and the Sonet
Earlier this week, Skoda Auto India announced the name of its third offering based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which will be called the Kylaq. New spy shots shared on the web reveal a key feature of this upcoming car ahead of its debut early next year.
The Kylaq sub-four-metre SUV, which will enter one of the most competitive segments in the country at the moment, will lock horns with the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra, XUV 3XO, and the Maruti Brezza. As seen in the spy shots, the car will get a single-pane electric sunroof.
The spy shots of the 2025 Skoda Kylaq also hints that the model will be offered in a red paint theme, and at least a part, if not the full taillight design, will receive a clear lens setup. Elsewhere, it will get roof rails, shark-fin antenna, slightly raked C-pillars, and a tailgate-mounted number plate holder. Previous teasers have also confirmed a split headlamp design, new LED DRLs, and inverted L-shaped LED taillights.
Underpinned by the same platform that forms the base for the Skoda Slavia and Kushaq, the model is likely to be available exclusively with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine in order to reap benefits of the tax brackets applicable to sub-four-metre SUVs. This motor, which produces 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, is expected to send power to the front wheels via six-speed manual and torque converter automatic units.
