- Will rival the Nexon, Magnite, and more
- To be launched in India early next year
Skoda will introduce its sub-four-metre SUV for the Indian market early next year. Ahead of its debut, the carmaker has released the first teaser video of the upcoming rival to the Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
As seen in the teasers, the Skoda Kylaq is wrapped in heavy camouflage with a green and black theme. Notable elements include the signature multi-slat grille flanked by LED DRLs on either side, new LED projector headlamps, and fresh front and rear bumpers. Elsewhere, it gets roof-rails, rear disc brakes, new blacked-out alloy wheels, pentagon-shaped taillights with LED inserts, and a new tailgate.
Inside, the new Kylaq is expected to boast features such as a large freestanding touchscreen unit, virtual cockpit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and rear AC vents.
To take benefit of the sub-four-metre vehicle rules, the 2025 Skoda Kylaq is likely to be offered only with the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine paired with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. This engine, in its current form, develops 114bhp and 178Nm of torque.
