Skoda India has officially commenced the deliveries of its newest product, the Kylaq SUV. This sub-four metre Tata Nexon rival is available in four variants, starting at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 7.89 lakh.
The Kylaq SUV uses the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, offered in the Kushaq and the Slavia. This motor is tuned to generate 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque while being mated to a six-speed manual and a torque converter unit.
The top-spec version of the Kylaq comes loaded with a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, digital driver’s display, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charger, TPMS, sunroof, and six airbags as standard.
Currently, with a starting ex-showroom price of under Rs. 8 lakh, the Skoda Kylaq competes against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Citroen Basalt, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO in the fierce compact SUV segment.
