Skoda is bringing the Kodiaq to India later this year and will offer a 4X4 option for the same. Globally, the 4x4 system for the Kodiaq is available across four engine trim levels with regard to the 4X4 option and of these there are two petrol options and two diesel options. We believe that Skoda will offer this 4X4 option with the 2.0-litre diesel in the 187bhp state of tune.
The gearbox in this case will be VW’s seven-speed DSG. Given that the Kodiaq and the VW Tiguan are going to be made on the same production line we believe VW too will offer a 4X4 option for the Kodiaq.
To recap, the Kodiaq is the new crossover from the Czech automaker and will be slotted a notch above theSuperb sedan in their lineup. This is their second SUV and over the next two years, Skoda plans to introduce at least three more models. This includes the new Yeti- a coupe SUV based on the Kodiaq as well as one model that will be positionedslot in below the Yeti in its offering.
