The Skoda Kodiaq has been rendered in digital form ahead of its official reveal later this year. This is the first seven-seat vehicle from the Czech automaker and will slot in above the Superb sedan as their new flagship offering.
The rendering, which appears to have been made from various spy shots of Kodiaq test vehicles, shows us that the car will get the moustache Skoda grille, softly flared wheel arches and a rear sloping roofline with blacked out pillars to give a floating effect. It is expected to stay quite close to the concept car which means the top-of-the-lines versions will get LED headlamps and an array of driving technologies.
The cabin of the Kodiaq is expected to mirror that of the Superb right down to the feature list. However, it seems highly possibl e that this may be the first Skoda to debut its version of the virtual cockpit system that we have been seeing on some VW and Audi cars. The engine lineup too will be lifted from the Superb which means there will be a variety of petrol and diesel models both in FWD and AWD guise.
This car will be an important model for Skoda India as it will drive their numbers in the D+ segment where it is expected to slot in above the Superb. Expect local assembly and a launch date in mid-2017.
