After much waiting, Skoda has finally launched the Kodiaq SUV in India at Rs 34.49 lakhs (All India ex-showroom). The company’s first seven seat SUV, the Kodiaq, is based on the company’s new design language and offers a host of comfort, convenience and safety features.

Mechanically, the newly launched Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that generates 150bhp of power and 340Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and also gets AWD. The 4.6-metres SUV also offers four different drive modes – normal, eco, sport individual and snow. Inside, the vehicle gets an eight-inch screen, dual-zone automatic climate control, black alcantra leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, power-operated driver and passenger seats and a multi-function steering wheel.
As for features, the Kodiaq gets electrically folding and auto-dimming door mirrors, and hands-free tailgate open or close. The front gets Skoda’s signature radiator grille, along with two-tier headlamps and a stylish bumper with fog lamp inserts. As for sides, it gets strong shoulder lines and bold wheel arches. The rear gets a wedge-like C-shaped tail lamps and stacked design. The integrated spoiler and raked-in windshield further add to its overall appeal.
Speaking of safety, Skoda Kodiaq gets nine airbags, advanced differential lock function, electronic stability control, pedestrian monitor, multi-collision brake, park assist, traffic jam assist, auto light assist, blind spot detect, ABS with EBD and hill hold control. Moreover, the SUV had also earned five-star rating at the Euro NCAP. The new model competes against the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
