- Based on the Vision GT concept
- Kamiq GT is specific to the Chinese market
Skoda has unveiled the Kamiq GT mid-size SUV in China. The Kamiq GT is a China-specific model, and is the fifth SUV offering from the Czech carmaker in China.
The Skoda Kamiq GT takes design inspiration from the Vision GT concept. The styling is an amalgamation of the muscular design of the regular model and the sporty elegance of the coupe body-style. The Kamiq GT is a result of the collaboration between the designers from SAIC Skoda and the Skoda Design team in Czech Republic.
The Skoda Kamiq GT comes with sleek LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a sloping roofline and new machined alloys. It also gets a chrome beltline that extends towards the C-pillar, and C-shaped LED taillights that complete the design. Interiors of the Kamiq GT are similar to the regular model. However, it gets GT badges on the dashboard and headrests, and a new upholstery for the seats. There’s also an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system on offer.
Powering the Skoda Kamiq GT is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 110bhp and 145Nm. In addition, it also gets a 1.2-litre TSI gasoline unit that churns out 115bhp and 175Nm. Gearbox options include five-speed and six-speed manual transmissions, while higher versions will also come with a seven-speed DSG unit.
