Skoda introduces Octavia Onyx edition at Rs 22.61 lakhs

Skoda revealed feature details for the Octavia Onyx edition a few day ago. This time around we bring out the prices for the petrol as well as the diesel version of the Onyx edition which is priced at Rs 22.61 lakh and Rs 24.31 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai), respectively. Based on the top-spec automatic Octavia Style-Plus variant, the Onyx edition comes with factory fitted kit that includes a set if cosmetic as well as feature upgrades. The vehicle is available in shades of blue, red and white.

Under the hood, the petrol version of Skoda Octavia Onyx edition continues to be powered by a 1.8 TSI petrol engine that comes mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission, while the diesel version is powered by a 2.0 TDI engine which comes mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission. Speaking of features, the Onyx edition cars get attractive body coloured spoiler, dynamic honeycomb air inlets, new decorative foils and door sills, 16-inch Premia black alloy wheels and black exterior mirrors. Taking it to the next level the special edition vehicle offers Bi-Xenon projector headlights, 12-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and panoramic sunroof and a host of other features.

In terms of safety, the Octavia Onyx edition gets multiple airbags as standard, while additionally offering Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS). The AFS technology claims to enhance safety of the driver by automatically adjusting the headlight based on the driving conditions. Features listed in the Onyx edition is offered at an additional cost, where the petrol version costs an additional Rs 1.32 lakh as against the regular automatic Style-Plus variant which is priced at Rs 21.29 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai). The diesel Onyx edition costs an additional Rs 1.44 lakh over the regular version which is priced at Rs 22.87 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai). The fairly long list of features in the Onyx edition though comes at a premium price, it can emerge as a popular pick among buyers who have been keen on more features to suit their taste.
