The Skoda Yeti facelift was unveiled last year at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and has been on sale in a few global markets for a while now. The Yeti facelift made its Indian debut recently at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and reports indicate that the car will be launched here in July.
The Yeti facelift has been given a complete cosmetic makeover and looks very different from the previous car. It has been styled along the lines of the recently updated Skoda line-up and looks much less off-beat now. The front of the car features a new grille, rectangular-shaped headlights with optional bi-xenons, LED daytime running lights. The rear houses new C-shaped tail lamps with optional LEDs and a redesigned tailgate. The car also gets new alloys wheels and new colour schemes.
Inside, the Yeti facelift has been equipped with a new steering wheel, new dashboard trim, additional fabric seat trims and patterns. Optional extras include an automatic parallel parking system and a rear-view camera.
Mechanically, the Yeti facelift is similar to the previous car and will be offered with the same engines. The Yeti facelift will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine which produces 108bhp and 250Nm of torque in the front-wheel-drive version and 138bhp and 320Nm of torque in the all-wheel-drive version.
The Skoda Yeti is a niche vehicle and does not directly compete with any other car in the Indian market. We expect it to be priced in the Rs 16 lakh to 19 lakh price bracket, which makes it rival the D-Segment sedans.
