To raise global awareness and in a bid to take steps to protect nature and the environment, World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5. On this occasion, Skoda has arranged for a 'Free Pollution Check' program.
Under this program, Skoda customers can get their vehicles checked at any Skoda dealership across the country. The 'Free Pollution Check' will include emission checking equipment and devices to clean the engine. Technical personnel at the Skoda Auto dealerships will help the customers in getting their vehicles checked through this initiative. The Skoda customers will also be given a free PUC certificate by the Skoda Auto dealers.
The carmaker plans to spread awareness about the environment in association with SIAM. The manufacturer says that this scheme shows the company’s commitment towards the society and the environment. We think this is a good initiative that the manufacturer has come up with to mark World Environment Day.
Skoda Auto India presently has a network of 88 sales and 82 service outlets across the country and has sold over 1,94,249 vehicles since November 2001, when Skoda Auto India Private Limited was established. Now it is a fully owned subsidiary of the Czech car manufacturer Skoda Auto and a division of Volkswagen Group Sales India.
The company currently sells the Superb, Octavia, Yeti and the Rapid in the Indian car market. Soon we will see the 2014 Yeti being assembled at the manufacturing facility in Shendra near Aurangabad, Maharashtra. It will replace the current Yeti and is expected to go sale by the end of this year.
