Skoda has teased a picture of the 2015 Skoda Fabia ahead of its global unveiling at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October. The teaser image shows the stylish headlight the car will feature. It features projector element, clear-lens turn indicator and LED daytime running lights. Although, the grille isn’t visible, a couple of vertical slats are evident indicating a design similar to the Octavia.
The 2015 Fabia is built on a re-engineered version of the existing Fabia’s platform, unlike the rumours that it will be built on the MQB platform. The car also gets a choice of powertrains a 1.0-litre three-cylinder and a 1.2-litre four-cylinder TSI engines. The diesel variants will get a three-cylinder 1.4-litre unit to be made available in two states of tune –72.9bhp and 101.5bhp.
Skoda discontinued the Fabia in India owing to poor sales and to concentrate on the Rapid. The 2015 model will make its debut in the European markets this year, but it is highly unlikely that it will be brought into India at this point of time.
