Skoda has said that it will not create a Superb vRS but rather have a sporty model for its flagship sedan whose major changes will only be visual in nature. Mechanical changes, if any, will be limited to a tuned suspension.
Winfried Vahland, CEO of Skoda, has hinted that a majority of its customers want 4X4 option in an RS model rather than more power. It appears that his biggest concern is cost, which the company wants to keep at an affordable level as well as one that goes with the image of the brand.
It seems possible that Skoda might just create a sporty diesel version both in estate and sedan form to be able to appeal to a wider customer base.
While we in India may not get the sporty Superb, it is possible that Skoda may offer the sporty bits as separate accessories once the vehicle is launched.
