Czech automaker Skoda has delivered one million vehicles so far this year. The brand, in fact, has reached the milestone around one month earlier than 2015. The flagship Superb has made a considerable contribution to this success.
From January to now, almost 1.15 lakh units of the luxury sedan have rolled off the production line – an increase of 85.2 per cent compared to the previous year. What’s more, the addition of the much awaited Kodiaq and the updated Octavia will only take the momentum forward for 2017.
As for Skoda’s smaller global models, namely the Fabia and the Rapid, the brand has revealed that deliveries of these models have increased by 6.7 per cent and 7 per cent respectively. Lastly, the heart of the brand, the Octavia stood at 3.61 lakh units from January to October.
Skoda, as we know, will be launching its first large SUV – the Kodiaq, globally next year. The new model will open up new customer base for the brand. Bookings have already begun for the Kodiaq, which will be heading to the first customers in February 2017. The vehicle of course is India-bound as well and will be positioned around the Superb as the brand’s flagship model.
