The 2017 Skoda Octavia was spotted undisguised near its Aurangabad plant not long after the company commenced its bookings. Now it has been confirmed that Skoda will unveil the new Octavia by mid-July.
The new 2017 Octavia will receive changes on the outside as well as inside. The new vehicle will get a new butterfly grille which is flanked by new split headlamps. The bumpers have been restyled, with strong evident lines and feature a horizontal chrome lip to increase the premium look. The side profile of the new vehicle is revised as well, with new 17inch alloy wheels and ORVMs.
The cabin will now feature all-LED lights, a new infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with WLAN connectivity for smartphone integration, two umbrellas tucked into the doors, a driver fatigue detection system, a rear-view camera and a hands-free parking system.
The 2017 Skoda Octavia will be powered by the same 1.4-litre and 1.8-litre petrol engines and 2.0-litre diesel engines from the current model. And it will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional DSG gearbox.
Skoda is also expected to launch the vRS version of the car, which will pack a more powerful engine option. A few sporty styling bits and an updated suspension setup will also be a part of the Octavia vRS package.
The prices of the new Octavia are yet to be revealed. Once launched, it will compete with the Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyudai Elantra and the Volkswagen Jetta.
