- Third car under India 2.0 programme
- Will get 1.0-litre TSI petrol
Earlier this year, Skoda announced that it would bring its third model under its India 2.0 programme in early 2025. The car will be a sub-four compact SUV and now the name will be officially revealed on 21 August, 2024.
The company is leaning towards a name starting with ‘K’ in line with all its other SUVs, including the Kushaq and the Kodiaq. It will make use of the automaker’s 1.0-litre TSI petrol producing 114bhp and 175Nm and come mated to either a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT.
The design language points to a shrunken-down Skoda Kushaq with a similar face, design for the wheels, and even the taillamps. The feature list is expected to include dual digital screens, climate control, connected car technology, and a 360-degree camera. This will be Skoda’s most important car in terms of volumes as it will go up against the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Fronx, and the Toyota Taisor.
