Skoda has been trying to strengthen its market presence in India for quite a while now. Recently, the automaker introduced dual airbags as standard across all its models in India and will soon be introducing ABS in a similar faahion before the end of this year. The move will also help the automaker comply with the 2017 safety norms before time and also offer enhanced safety features in comparison to its competitors.
In 2017, Skoda plans on launching four new products in India. It includes the Rapid facelift, Octavia RS, Kodiaq SUV and possibly a Rapid-based hatchback. Skoda has also been striving hard to change the negative brand image which until now was seen as high on maintenance and had loads of customer complaints. To change the negative perception, the company is working on the after sales area and has offered standard 4-year/100,000 warranty across all models. Additionally, customers can avail standard roadside assistance for four years at no extra cost.
The company will also offer ‘Skoda Service Care’ facility, which means that the customers can expect uniform service charge across the country. This will allow customers to select the type of service from the basket of services on offer. Customers will be handed out their serviced vehicles on the same day. The new initiatives will help the brand gain a better footing in the Indian market.
